Preparation Instructions
Most tests do not require special preparation, except for **fasting for 8 hours** before the blood draw.
Preparation or sample collection instructions for tests requiring specific preliminary indications for the patient are included in the specific test preparation sheets, which can be consulted by clicking here.
For further inquiries, it is possible to contact the laboratory secretariat by email or phone during working hours
- tel: 035.886.218
- email: laboratorioanalisi.psm@grupposandonato.it
If the biological sample sent to the Laboratory does not meet the acceptance criteria (e.g., coagulated sample, hemolyzed sample, insufficient sample, or inappropriate collection container), the laboratory secretariat will inform the patient to proceed with a new sample collection and delivery.
Considering that the use of appropriate containers for the home collection of biological materials (swabs, urine, stool, etc.) is essential to ensure adequate quality of analytical services, Policlinico San Marco, through its blood collection point, provides these containers free of charge to outpatients upon presentation of a medical prescription.
