IT Manager

We are seeking an experienced IT Manager to lead the IT operations at the Istituti Ospedalieri Bergamaschi branch in Basra, Iraq. The IT Manager will drive critical projects, including the “re-boot” of the Hospital Information System, ensuring that the hospital’s information systems align with the business needs and operational goals. The IT Manager will manage diverse technological projects, optimize the hospital’s IT infrastructure, and collaborate with both internal teams and external consultants to guarantee the successful implementation of IT solutions.

 

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead the hospital’s IT strategy, ensuring alignment with operational goals, project timelines, and cost-efficiency.
  • Guarantee the proper functioning of the hospital’s Information Systems, coordinating with the Group ICT Management for ongoing projects and strategic initiatives.
  • Manage and coordinate various IT projects, ensuring successful outcomes within the agreed timeframes and budgets.
  • Collaborate with internal and external stakeholders, serving as the point of reference for collecting business and technological requirements.
  • Ensure compliance with ICT security policies and promote continuous improvements to the hospital’s Information Systems.
  • Oversee supplier performance to ensure the timely and cost-effective delivery of IT services, in line with the Group ICT Department’s policies.
  • Supervise the hospital’s IT asset management, ensuring proper life cycle management, efficiency, and security of the distributed IT resources.
  • Lead the hospital’s IT budgeting, ensuring alignment with project and operational needs.
  • Promote effective communication between departments that provide technological services within the hospital, including the Technical Office and Clinical Engineering departments.
  • Identify and mitigate risks, managing escalation processes as required.

 

Qualifications

  • Master’s Degree in Engineering, Economics, or technical-scientific disciplines (required).
  • 10+ years of experience in IT management and project management, with a proven ability to lead diverse IT projects and manage resources.
  • Strong knowledge of IT systems in healthcare environments, with a solid understanding of healthcare application systems and their technological aspects.
  • Proficient in business and functional analysis, with the ability to translate business requirements into technological solutions.
  • Fluent in English and Arabic (written and spoken), with knowledge of Italian preferred.
  • Strong leadership, project management, and communication skills, with experience in resource management.
  • Excellent organizational and problem-solving abilities in a fast-paced, high-pressure environment.
