Psychosocial impact of the COVID-19 Pandemic on Congenital Heart Disease Patients and Families

The Working Group “Neurodevelopment and Psychosocial Care from Fetus to Adult” of the Association of the European Pediatric Cardiologists (AEPC) has the pleasure to invite you to the following Webinar:

Psychosocial impact of the COVID-19 Pandemic on Congenital Heart Disease Patients and Families

That will take place on Wednesday 29th of September (9 am – 5 pm CET)

The program aims to provide an opportunity to reflect on the impact the pandemic has had and is still having when it comes to the psychosocial aspects of patients with congenital heart defects in all age groups and their families.

This webinar is an important platform for all health professionals involved in the care of children and adults with congenital heart disease.

Some of the themes that will be explored are:

  • Parental psychological state and attitudes
  • Psychosocial effects of quarantine
  • Increased risk due to sedentary lifestyle

National and international speakers will contribute to the webinar.

CALL FOR ABSTRACTS!

We welcome abstracts for oral presentations both regarding scientific research and clinical care, related to neurodevelopmental and psychosocial aspects of congenital heart defects from fetus to adults, specifically referring to the COVID-19 pandemic, until the 30th of August. 

Abstract Submission

Authors submitting abstracts for presentation at this conference should consider the following:

  1. Abstracts should contain the following structure: Introduction, Methods, Results, and Conclusions.
  2. Titles should be indicative of the content of the abstract, without abbreviations in the title.
  3. Abbreviations may be used in the body text, if they are defined at their first mention.
  4. The combined length of the abstract body text should not exceed 250 words.
  5. By submitting an abstract for consideration, the Authors confirm that, if the abstract will be accepted for a presentation, the Author or co-author/presenter will register for and attend the conference.
  6. Submission: Abstracts should be submitted to aepc2021@grupposandonato.it with “Abstract AEPC 2021” in the subject heading.
  7. The members of the Scientific Committee will review the abstracts.
  8. Authors will be informed about the acceptance of their abstract for oral presentation by the 6th of September 2021.

Each medical specialist should claim only those hours of credit that he/she actually spent in the educational activity.

Through an agreement between the Union Européenne des Médecins Spécialistes and the American Medical Association, physicians may convert EACCME® credits to an equivalent number of AMA PRA Category 1 CreditsTM.
